Our camps

Spring in your step children's fundamental movement camps run during Easter holidays, the summer months of July and August and Halloween Midterm.

The the aims and intentions of the camp is to promote ACTIVE outdoor play and movement in a child directed environment. All activities take place outside as much as possible.

The camp runs from 9:30am-2pm Monday to Friday.

  • Fundamental movement skills games
  • Obstacle courses
  • Relay races
  • Tree climbing
  • Playground fun
  • Fundamental movement skills competitions
  • 5 minute meditation with yoga
  • All inclusive games (40 40, bulldog, etc)
  • Outdoor picnics
  • Skipping
  • Fort/den making
  • Scavenger hunts

Spring in your step activities may include (but are not limited to):

  • 5 minute mediation with yoga (warm up).

  • Evidence based movement games to promote emotional regulation - stuck in the mud, cone catcher, good cop bad cop, grab the cone, through the hoop, relay surprise etc... These fundamental movement activities not only promote children's coordination, athletic ability and concentration but also offer the opportunity to escape the seriousness the school environment often brings.

  • Fundamental movement skills competitions such as balancing, racing, throwing, plank, skipping... creating a sense of competition adds an element of excitement for the students and ensures fun all round.

  • Challenging yet ability appropriate obstacle courses as part of a team... This is where the students put all of the fundamental movement skills practiced throughout the session to use all at once in a fun, engaging and competitive way.

  • 5 minute reflection and moment of gratitude with yoga (cool down). Here the students have the opportunity to express what they liked/disliked about their session. We also encourage the students to say two things they are grateful for as a form of meditation and relaxation after their energy guzzling session. This five minute cool down resets the energy levels and emotions for heading back into the classroom environment.

At Spring in your step we believe there’s something in it for every child… regardless of ability, age or interests… MOVEMENT IS FOR EVERYONE!

Spring in your step encourages children to move their bodies in ways that they get ENJOYMENT from.

ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL here at Spring in your step.

We ensure to meet each child where they are at to allow us to recognise their STRENGTHS AND INTERESTS.

Recognising a child's strengths and interests enables us to work towards a RANGE OF MOVEMENT SPECIFIC TO EACH CHILD.

No two children are the same.

Spring in your step strives to create a POSITIVE AND UPLIFTING disposition towards movement and exercise, regardless of age, ability or skill, all children are PROMISED A GOOD GOOD TIME!

Creating an enjoyable and chilled experience where children can form HEALTHY HABITS AND ATTITUDES all whilst securing FRIENDSHIPS AND CONNECTIONS is at the core of our intentions.

Midst all the FUN&CHAOS children are sure to grasp the concept MINDING YOUR BODY IS MINDING YOUR MIND!

HEALTHY BODY HEALTHY MIND!

Cannot wait to meet you all!
